I have a lot of first fandoms, but the first fandom I looked up on the internet was The Vampire Chronicles. This was in the last heyday of the book fandom, right before Anne Rice lost her mind again and started issuing so many ceace-and-desists that everyone just...gave up.
This was (as far as I remember) 1998, so when I say "fanmixes," there wasn't streaming, there weren't downloads, it was just straight up a list of songs and you had to go search Napster for them yourself. That was how I constructed my first fanmix (titled, of course, Theatre des Vampyres):

For a fandom I don't actually think about all that often, it sure did stick around. In 2003, spring semester of my freshman year of college, I made my first vid. I will still go to bat for Tom Cruise as Lestat; he was a delight. (And of course Antonio Banderas as Armand. Does he look the first thing like Armand? Not even slightly, it fucked me up when I finally read Queen of the Damned, but he has the VIBES). So sure, if you want to watch a twenty year old vid (!!!!), well, here you go.
